Refill when ink reaches the bottom black plastic base.
Also lay the Piano Book on it's back, then slowly raise to the vertical position, this will fill the back tank and give you the true ink level.

My CISS ink cartridges are not recognized by printer?
If this is your first install, this error will come up if you have not pushed your CISS cartridges in all the way.
Make sure the tabs are bent forward to make positive contact with the ink well case.
You will hear a click sound for each cartridge as it seats in the ink well.
If this is not a new install, it may be time to reset ink levels.
Turn the power off on multi, press the button on combo.
Once you install Artisan and HP #88 cartridges leave them in!

Can I use the Continous Ink System to setup my printer?
Follow the instructions that came with your printer and install the OEM cartridges.

The Epson Combo-Chip has a push button to reset ink levels.

Combo-Chip models are sold to USA customers only, international CISS have different chip sets.

The Multi-Chip CISS, just turn off the printer to reset ink levels.

Why is the ink in front tank of the CISS not filled to the top?
Most of the ink is hidden in the rear tank, this system is a Constant Level CISS, assuring smooth delivery of ink to the cartridges. All systems ship with 100ml per color, in shipping some ink may flow to the front tank showing uneven amounts. Just lay the Piano Book down on it's back to level inks.
Always take black shipping caps off before use and slide on clear caps.
